PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)

Artist's Statement:

I wanted this piece to express how it feels when you have PTSD, I wanted it to show the ever-lurking trauma, clouding over your view of life. The two sculptures are to mirror and connect to each other like pieces of a puzzle. The girl is bending over in grief and sadness as the other figure lurks over her making her feel isolated and alone. The blue ink represents the sadness that comes from traumatic memories and the black represents the darkness and loneliness of how it feels. The yarn clouds over the figure of the girl and connects to the figure in the back, representing the endless triggers. The faces protruding out the back figure are to be the screams of pain to represent the memories held within the person.
